Inspired by our recently published title Magic Episodes and Other Synchronicities: The Transhemispheric Correspondence of Scott Burton and Eduardo Costa, 1970–1980, we encourage everybody who’s never/who’s always wanted to/who started but didn’t finish to come write and send off letters at our open studio event (stamps provided!). This is the right time to put all your thoughts on paper and mail a long-promised letter to a friend.
Alongside writing, at this open studio we will discuss and make our own mail art (think The New York Correspondence School or Moyra Davey’s “mailer” works). Bring any desired materials (or use ours at the studio) to fold, wrap, cut, and—send away!
