“HARVEST MOON” SOLO EXHIBITION BY TYVETTE SYMONE
September 24th, 2018
Tyvette Symone will be presenting her first solo show, Harvest Moon, at Seven House Gallery in Brooklyn on Thursday, October 25th.

The exhibition is a collection of the last five years of her work, featuring installations, collaged canvases, and the raw materials that form her practice. Each creation represents a different aspect of an emotion or principle based on what they are made of. Her most recent expression incorporates a taxidermied set of geese wings collaged with crystals and other natural materials on canvas.

Harvest Moon aims to educate and inspire the audience by including displays and information about the raw materials used in each piece, highlighting the process of transformation, rebirth and reformation. Viewers are invited to experience the exhibit with their eyes open and closed, taking inventory of their internal response to the metaphysical properties of the art. Laurelle Rethke, founder of The Faerie Den in
midtown Manhattan, will be there to speak to those who are interested in a deeper understanding of each of the minerals healing properties.

Tyvette Symone’s practice lies in mixed media collage, utilizing natural materials such as crystals, pressed flowers and feathers on canvas and in glass. A self taught artist, her natural affection for the metaphysical offerings of nature is what first inspired her craft.

Seven House Gallery is located in East Williamsburg at 35 Meadow Street, Brooklyn, NY. Opening reception for Harvest Moon is on Thursday, October 25th from 6-10pm. The exhibition will be on view until Sunday, October 28th from 2pm-6pm each day.
