‘REFLECTIONS OF THE HUMAN CONDITION’ SOLO ART EXHIBITION BY TYVETTE SYMONE

Tyvette Symone will be presenting her second solo show, ‘Reflections of the Human Condition’, at Seven House Gallery in Brooklyn, New York on Thursday, March 28th, 2024.
The exhibition explores a symbolic experience of her personal journey with the symptoms of bipolar I disorder. Each of the ten pieces presented aspire to educate the audience by interactively including information about the ‘symptoms’ of the artwork within the framework of the exhibition provided by the International Bipolar Foundation. Themes examined include mania, depression, delusions of grandeur, hallucinations and psychosis, among others.

Tyvette Symone is a self-taught mixed media artist based in Brooklyn, New York. She masters the use of natural materials such as crystals, taxidermy, tree bark, soil, paper, mirror, and pressed flowers in her artwork. Each creation represents a reflection of different aspects of an emotion or principle based on their medium and her intention. She often explores the symptoms of mental illness intimately in her art. Tyvette aims to inspire and destigmatize the conversation around mental health through sharing her own personal experiences within the composition of her work.

Seven House Gallery is located in East Williamsburg at 35 Meadow Street, Brooklyn, NY. There will be an artist talk on Saturday, March 30th from 6-7pm in honor of World Bipolar Day with a reception to follow. The exhibition will be on view until Sunday, March 31st from 1pm-9pm each day.
