What does it take to bring an idea to life?
Box Factory Gallery welcomes you to experience art from inside the very act of creation where performance painter, Annika Rhea will present “Journey” with live music by composer Tasso Zapanti and live filming by Javier Alvarez.
Journey takes the audience on an artist’s journey, from the conception of an idea through the stages of the creative cycle, represented as five different sections of the canvas. The metaphorical narrative follows the story of an idea and highlights the human experience and emotional range that is experienced when bringing a vision to life.
Rhea communicates the concepts with her performance painting technique, Body Medium, that utilizes the body as a paintbrush, motion as the strokes and the canvas as a stage to create the 45 foot long abstract expressionist painting.
