Art Gallery 118 presents Selected Works, a solo exhibition of oil paintings and mixed media works by Oakland, CA based artist Heidi Brueckner. The exhibition will run at artgallery118.com from October 10 to November 10, 2021.
Presented works span several years of the artist’s practice from allegorical figurative works, to abstraction and mixed media collage, to more recent portraits. Typical of all of her work is heavy use of acidic colors, symbolism, and pattern referencing art and culture from around the world. Thematically the works cover topics such as social commentary about morality and cultural norms, to the more free-associative, to individualistic narratives that explore personage through self-presentation, facial expressions, and gesture.
