Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition (BWAC)’s 2017 Autumn Art Shows:
Interactive, Material Matters, Interactive, Grand Installations, Photography Pop-up, Really Affordable Art Show
Opening Weekend: Saturday, September 23rd, 2017 and Sunday, September 24th, 2017

BWAC shows span a range of creativity in the Arts, and the Fall Show is no exception. With five (5) different Art Exhibitions on two floors, plus music and a Café, coming to the BWAC Gallery on the Red Hook Waterfront is your chance to experience:

Material Matters: Innovations in Clay, Glass, Wood and Metal: BWAC’s annual show of museum-quality ceramic art, selected by Lillian Tone, Assistant Curator from MOMA.

Photography Pop-up: Photography Salon “Hit Me with Your Best Shot”.

Interactive: Our members show, located on the second floor.

Grand Installations: An immersive Art Experience: Visitors will be part of the ongoing intermixing of creativity, the ongoing exchange of thought patterns, uniquely placed within the creative zone with the merging of visions, words, music, thoughts… never static.

Really Affordable Art Show: Over 150 works under $499 selected by show juror Laura Phipps, Assistant Curator of Art, Whitney Museum of Art.

EVENTS:

Saturday, September 23rd:
2:00 PM-3:00 PM: Pete Mancini Paradiddle Records recording artist Pete Mancini is the frontman and primary songwriter of Butchers Blind, a critically acclaimed rock band from NYC.
3:30 PM-5:30 PM: THE STATEN ISLAND SNUGS, is a four member, three-part harmony outfit, with lead guitar, bass, flute, and drums.

Sunday, September 24th:
2:00 PM-4:00 PM: Jazz Foundation Presents: Roy Meriwether. The great pianist Roy Meriwether brings his unique, virtuosic, gospel-tinged stylings to BWAC.
4:00PM-5:30 PM: “We Love the Educated…”: NYC Teachers Tell All. Educators share their creative words and tall tales inspired by their classrooms. Produced and hosted by John Istel.

The show is open weekends 1-6PM and runs through October 15
