About the Mudhouse Residency

The Mudhouse Residency, in the rural mountain village of Agios Ioannis, Crete, is now accepting applications for its Studio Residency and Independent Residency programs, to take place June 19- July 3rd, 2017. All residency programs include accommodations in the village, dinners taken family style at the local taverna, and the support of a vibrant community of artists.

The Mudhouse Residency offers two distinct programs based on the individual needs of the artist-in-residence. The Studio Residency offers visual artists the time and the studio space to develop a body of work and the Independent Residency is ideal for non-studio artists who desire the opportunity to partake in village life and the residency community but crave the solitude of the mountain village to realize their project. Additionally, there is the opportunity for any artist-in-residence to participate in workshops on drawing, painting or printmaking and join group trips to archaeological sites, beaches and day hikes.
