Giacomo Colosi, a prominent international performance artist renown for his interpretation of concepts of absence, personal memories, and vulnerability, will be presenting his latest performance Home/House on Friday, April 8th 2016. On this performance organized by The Espejo Organization for the Arts and hosted by Rabbithole Projects, Colosi will explore the conceptions that connect an architectural and empty structure into a psychological space of comfort and security.
Giacomo Colosi is an Italian performance artist, currently based out of New Jersey, whose works uses a raw, humorous, and absurd style to explore the performative practice of human condition. Colosi, who has performed in collaboration with Frieze Projects at Frieze Art 2009 Fair, Biennale di Venezia 2009 Nordic Pavilion (2009), and Non-Dancers performance at the Whitney Biennial 2012, will invite the audience to participate in this performance, encouraging participants to revisit their own personal memories and creating a synergy with his environment.
Presented by The Espejo Organization for the Arts, a Bushwick-based arts management organization committed to promote the artistic endeavors of mid-career and emerging international artists and creatives, this performance is part of a series of one night pop-up exhibitions and performances that aim to bring international art practices closer to the public.“Through these one-night shows we aim to offer an open and inviting platform where international artists and the public would meet. We want to create a more intimate relationship between the creator and the audience and invite them to participate and engage with contemporary art.” said Kika Espejo, founder and director of the the organization.
The Rabbithole Projects Gallery, an art space located on the waterfront of the Dumbo Arts District in Brooklyn, will host Colosi’s Home/House performance. “Our goal is to provide the space and community access for these talented artists to share their dreams, visions, and creations with inspired attendees. Colosi’s performance will be an unforgettable night,” said Shawn Lyons, Owner of Rabbithole Projects. “As a contemporary art space we pride ourselves on exposing the work of diverse New-York based artists. We are incredibly excited to host such an intriguing performer.”
Home/House will take place from 7:30PM-9:30PM, Friday, April 8th at the Rabbithole Projects Gallery in Dumbo, Brooklyn.
