“Pablo Matisse,” the nom de plume of Brooklyn artist Dane LaChiusa, blends the work of Matisse and Picasso on canvas at Bayridge, Brooklyn’s “The Art Room” (8710 3rd Avenue, Bayridge, Brooklyn), opening Friday, November 13th, 7 – 9 pm and running through November 27, M – Sat 11 am to 6 pm. Says LaChiusa (a.k.a. Pablo Matisse): “Matisse and Picasso were notorious for “appropriating” from each other. Now I have appropriated from both of them in hopes of shedding a new light on the complementary styles of these two great masters, while producing works that are unique and not reducible to either of them, or both together.” For further details, go to Pablomatisse.com.
