Assimilation
Choreography and performance by Malik Nashad Sharpe

Friday, December 4, 2015 | 8-9:30pm
FiveMyles Gallery | 558 St Johns Pl | Brooklyn, NY 11238

Assimilation I is the first of a multilogical-Afrofuturistic choreographic project that imbricates queer, Black, and anarchist ontologies with a current state of affairs. Looking toward new political possibility, the piece uses the repositioning of the allostatic load (a wear and tear on the body from repeated stress) on the Black body as both caused by frequent and unrelenting political stress, and also as the ripest site for radical physical discourse.

A talkback session will take place after the show.
