320 artist studios and arts venues will be open to the public on Saturday, October 18, and Sunday, October 19, from noon to 6pm. For one weekend each year, artists working in the former factories, warehouses and studio buildings in Gowanus invite the public to visit their studios, see their work, and talk about their process. This year 320 artists are preparing to welcome over 5,000 visitors into their studios. Get a sneak preview on the Directory of Artists with additional special events take place during the weekend.
Featuring artwork by Martha Clippinger, Rachael Gorchov, Chad Nelson, and Dominic Nurre. The works in the show dissolve traditional categories of painting, sculpture, and installation. Conceptually driven and intuitively articulated, they explore the familiar in a bewilderingly beautiful way.
