BRIC Biennial: Volume III, South Brooklyn Edition

On View: February 7 – April 7, 2019
BRIC, 647 Fulton Street, Brooklyn, NY 11217

BRIC, celebrating 40 years as the leading presenter of free cultural programming in Brooklyn, is pleased to present the BRIC Biennial: Volume III, South Brooklyn Edition. This year, the organization engages nineteen artists in South Brooklyn—the archaic and nebulous term for the area that includes Park Slope, Gowanus, Sunset Park, and Bay Ridge. Rather than reflecting our current state of affairs, the artists look inward to express the need to question the status quo, as they seek new models of working and existing outside of our current social and political system.

This third iteration of the BRIC Biennial includes partnerships with more venues and institutions than any before, with five satellite exhibitions in conjunction with the exhibition at Green-Wood Cemetery, La Bodega, NARS Foundation, Ortega Y Gasset Projects, Trestle Gallery, and a curated project by An/Other in the Project Room of BRIC House.
