Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition (BWAC)’s 2017 Autumn Art Shows:
Interactive, Material Matters, Interactive, Grand Installations, Really Affordable Art Show
Closing Weekend: Saturday, October 14th, 2017 and Sunday, October 15th, 2017

BWAC shows span a range of creativity in the arts, and the Fall Show is no exception. With five (5) different Art Exhibitions on two floors, plus music and a Café, coming to the BWAC Gallery on the Red Hook Waterfront is your chance to experience:

Material Matters: Innovations in Clay, Glass, Wood and Metal: BWAC’s annual show of museum-quality ceramic art, selected by Lillian Tone, Assistant Curator from MOMA.

Interactive: Our members show, located on the second floor.

Grand Installations: An immersive Art Experience: Visitors will be part of the ongoing intermixing of creativity, the ongoing exchange of thought patterns, uniquely placed within the creative zone with the merging of visions, words, music, thoughts… never static.

Really Affordable Art Show: Over 150 works under $499 selected by show juror Laura Phipps, Assistant Curator of Art, Whitney Museum of Art.

EVENTS:

Saturday, October 14th:
2:00 PM-5:00 PM: Readers from the Staten Island Creative Community will once again get together with readers from the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists coalition to present original poetry and prose based on the theme “Bridges.” Poets will include Thomas Fucaloro, Fritz Weiss, Marilyn Kiss, Jessica Kratz, Druanne Dillon, and Brandon Korosh. Joelle Morrison will be featured reading from her new book of short stories. The original music and lyrics of Alergic to B’s will follow the readings. For more information contact the SICC Literary Chairperson at lampmanrobin@gmal.com.

Sunday, October 15th:

2:00PM-3:30PM: Ecstatic Ekphrastic Visions: Word Cabaret tours the BWAC Galleries. Word Cabaret commissions a bevy of Brooklyn-based writers to pen original monologues, poems, and stories, each inspired by an artwork in BWAC’s Fall member show. Reserve a spot on a “tour” to hear these words performed by professional actors under the direction of Courtney L. Wetzel. Produced and hosted by John Istel

4:00PM: Put in a winning bid at the Silent Affordable Auction (where bids start as low as $30)
