Allie Olson’s performance A TELLING, explores the ancient tradition of oral storytelling in an era saturated with text, visual symbols and digital media. Inviting every participant into a one on one experience with her, Allie will share true stories from her life inspired by a prompt from each visitor. Her performance questions the value and intimacy of sharing and hearing a story verbally compared to the online sensation of click and pass. Using her voice and a ceremonial approach, Olson will offer a part of herself with each human connection, striving to create an intangible gift of lasting proportions.
