In the winter of 2013, Brooklyn-born artist Joseph Milazzo spent 6 weeks traveling throughout Cuba. He was the first member of his family to return to the island since the the days of the revolution. This search for a lost part of his family heritage provided the inspiration that would ultimately become The Cuba Series. The collection features 20 large-scale paintings based on the people he met during his extensive travels, along with vivid descriptions recounting his interactions with them and the places he visited.
