In an effort to enhance our guest experience, NU Hotel is pleased to announce an open call for proposals for sculpture within our courtyard space.
The courtyard space is viewable by all guests whose rooms overlook the courtyard. Our goal is to offer an artist the opportunity to supply works that will greatly capture the unique and wonderful neighborhoods of Brooklyn. There are no size or scale limitations, however it is encouraged that the artist come visit the space before sending a proposal. We are looking for works that are made for an outdoor space, as the courtyard is outdoors.
Application Fee: There is no application fee
Application Deadline: May 15th 2017
Submission Requirements;
Artist CV, Artist Bio, Artist Statement and 5-10 examples of work that is most similar to what may be proposed.
Proposals should include the following;
Project Description. Sketches of the proposed sculptures within the space. Material cost sheet including artist fee. Timeline of creation of works and installation.
NU Hotel will be hosting an opening for the sculpture works after the installation. This opening will include complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres. Marketing and PR will be handled by the hotel. The reception will be open to the public. The artist will also receive a permanent page on the NU Hotel website featuring the new sculpture work.
