Machines of Paint and Other Materials
September 10th – October 2, 2016
Opening Saturday, September 10th, 6-9pm

Studio 1046 is delighted to present Machines of Paint and Other Materials at 72 Front Street  in Dumbo Brooklyn, a temporary exhibition space.
“Machines of Paint and Other Materials”  is a non-thematic group show featuring large and small painting and sculpture. The exhibition will present work by established and emerging artists who share in possessing a directed passion fed by their art.
We are in an age of synthesis, wherein a superabundance of cultural and material history is considered by each of these artists in their approach to making works of art. The works on view whether large or small are remarkable for their daring and originality, qualities that harken to the Romantic for their individuality. The work is made of both conscious and unconscious intention that transcends the anecdotal or thematic. And by encompassing qualities that range from fiery dynamism, powerful color, fierce movement to a sense of equilibrium and eloquence, these works seen together are a poignant representation of painting and sculpture today.
There will be a reception for the artists on Saturday, September 10th, 6-9 pm.
