Open Call for Profiles: Photography Exhibition

Profiles: A view of the human figure, an architectural rendering, a journalistic investigation of a personality, the compiling of information to form a picture, the psychologizing of an abnormal subject, policing by skin color, a surveillance dossier. For Profiles, our upcoming open-call photography show, Shoestring Press seeks submissions that explore the many ways in which the photograph works as a profile – whether as a tool or a final product, a reflection of a moment or a total account.
Each artist may submit up to three digital photographic works for consideration. A $15 submission fee will be used to defray the cost of exhibition and production. Submissions must be received by July 16, 11:59PM.
Each artist selected to exhibit in Profiles will meet with our digital master printer to produce a finished 19″x27″ print for the exhibition, to be printed and framed at Shoestring Press. Please be available to travel to Shoestring Press in Brooklyn to supervise the printing of your piece. Profiles will open August 21, and be on display until September 8. After the exhibition, each artist will receive their framed print free of charge.

Image files up to 1 MB in size, Adobe RGB, 8 or 16 bit color, 200-300 dpi preferred. Files should be titled in the following format: YOUR_NAME_title_of_photo_date.jpg.
(Larger files and different file types may be used for printing final pieces. If your work is selected you’ll be requested to submit a ready-to-print copy of your image.)
