New York painter and sculptor Jessica Hargreaves has turned her artistic intentions toward fine jewelry, presenting her first ever jewelry collection at Fitzgerald Jewelry in Williamsburg with an artist showcase event on Friday, June 19th from 6 – 9pm. Taking inspiration from places like Romantic era portraiture and ornate Gothic gargoyles, Hargreaves’ work dances around allegorical tales and the psychology of human interactions, often with animals as conduits and buffers. Cast from hand-carved wax molds and using various metals and stones, her jewelry, much like her art, is dramatic, raw and humorous.

The jewelry collection will be on view and available for sale at Fizgerald Jewelry starting on Friday, June 19 with an artist showcase from 6pm-9pm. Fitzgerald Jewelry is located at 321 Grand Street in Brooklyn.

Jessica Hargreaves is a fine artist from London whose career began in fashion design upon graduating from Central Saint Martin’s School of Art. After working for J. Crew and Liz Claiborne, among others, she left the fashion world and went on to get her MFA from The Art Institute in Chicago in 2006. Jessica lives and works in New York City.
