“Imaginationland” by Davaro-Comas at Littlefield

Love

Davaro-Comas’ Imaginationland, on Saturday January 11th from 6-9pm. Littlefield is located at 622 Degraw Street between 3rd and 4th aves in Brooklyn, NY.

Imaginationland is a wild and colorful exhibition series that brings an intimate look into the mind of a travelling artist who escapes reality through his work. A style mixture of Ralph Steadman, Garry Baseman and Jeff Soto, Davaro-Comas’ colors and pen&ink hand style create his own visual vocabulary of fantastical characters, backgrounds and absurdities that are as exciting as they are intriguing. Awkward Humans and creatures interact with blighted surrealistic worlds finding themselves in gradually bizarre situations. Hard edge mountains, color washes and regional street advertising make up this amalgamation of backgrounds, and bring an eerie loneliness to the work that lurks into the air.

The Imaginationland exhibit was created on a yearlong travelling experience, where Davaro-Comas lived, painted and exhibited his work with different Residencies and Galleries in Berlin, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Prague, New York and Providence RI.

The first 25 people at the exhibit will receive a free 5×7” one of a kind print.

Along with the exhibit, Davaro-Comas will also be debuting the Imaginationland book, a 40 page, full color book that contains a selection of the work created during this 1 year period. Ramiro will also have a series of zines and prints at the opening.
