A.I.R. Gallery Call for Artists
A.I.R. Gallery invites you to submit your artwork to Privacy Please
An open call to all self-identified women artists who examine beauty and grooming rituals in their artwork.
Entry Deadline: July 15, 2011 at Midnight. Online applications only.
Privacy Please! will explore how women artists express private beauty rituals in their work. Some of the questions the exhibition will pose include how women artists are currently dealing with notions of beauty, how grooming rituals change as women age, how they define who we are, and particularly how these ideas get translated into a work of art.
A.I.R. welcomes an open interpretation of the theme.
Guest-curated by Erin Riley-Lopez, Independent Curator and former Associate Curator at The Bronx Museum of the Arts.
Project Curator/Organizer: Annette Rusin, Artist and 2009-10 A.I.R. Gallery Fellowship Recipient.
