The Virgin Knitters at Textile Arts Center

UPCOMING GALLERY EXHIBITION: The Virgin Knitters

Textile Artist, Kimberly Hall, presents her years-long project exploring the unusual beauty and power of creating an object by hand. In exchange for teaching the exhibiting Virgin Knitters, each student gave up their “virgin scarf” to Kimberly. To her, these were symbols of luck — what do we put into hand made object of ourselves? Why? And what happens when these objects become the property of others?

We also ask seek new Virgin Knitters for the exhibition. Throughout October, Kimberly will be holding free knitting classes, in which you will give up your “virgin scarf” for your new knowledge.
